Test Case List

The Test Case List page displays the Test Cases created for a Draft.

The list can be searched by Test Case name and can be filtered by:

  • Label

  • Valid/Invalid status

  • Last run status (never run/passed/failed/cancelled)

  • Selected

  • Changed

  • Missing

Note

'Changed' Test Cases are ones where the Test Case, or any referenced object such as the Edit Check, have been modified after the Test Case was last run

Note

'Missing' Test Cases are ones where any referenced object such as the Edit Check, does not exist in the Draft.

Test Cases can be added to the Draft by:

One or more Test Cases can be selected and:

  • run

  • a PDF created

  • exported to Excel

  • deleted

  • a Test Archive can be created

  • a Label can be added, or removed from the selected Test Cases

Test Case PDF

One or more Test Cases can be exported to a PDF file.

The content can include specification:

  • the description of any Edit Checks referenced by the Test Case(s)

  • the 'Programmer View' of the Test Case specification, e.g. the specification displayed with Folder, Form and Field OIDs

  • the 'Data Manager View' of the Test Case specification, e.g. the specification displayed with Folder, Form and Field names

For Test Cases which have been run the content can include:

  • the Test Case run settings, e.g. the Rave URL, Project, Environment and Site on which the Test Case was run.

  • 'Passed' Scenarios, e.g. the test steps and results for all scenarios which passed

  • 'Failed' Scenarios, e.g. the test steps and results for all scenarios which failed. Note that all steps, including ones which passed are included.

  • Screenshots (if taken in the Test Case run)

Note

There is a limit on the number of screenshots which can be included in the PDF generation. If you select Test Cases containing more screenshots than allowed you should reduce the number of Test Cases selected. PDF documents with more than this limit will be extremely large in size. If you have a requirement to generate such a document, please contact TrialGrid support.

Note

If a large number of Test Cases have been selected then the PDF generation might take a long time. PDF generation runs as a background task so you can perform other activities in TrialGrid and will receive an Alert when it is completed. Progress will be visible from the Tasks option in the top menu bar.
